SCIENCE MATH CELEBRATION

“Math-Sci Is Our Pride, Our Hope and Our Future.” Subjects which have been part of one’s educational journey. Mathematics and science brought changes in our lives, to our daily life challenges and struggles. Different principles that these two had taught us are applicable in solving circumstances that we might face or we had faced. From the Ancient Greek era, science and mathematics have been a way to understand the world around us. However, why students nowadays don not realize such things and importance of the named subjects?

Many of today’s elementary and high school students look at their mathematics and science classes as either a waste of time or irrelevant to their future lives. There are also times when students say, “Why do we need to know about the radicals, the trigonometric functions, the elements, and the momentum of a falling object when in fact we cannot use them in our everyday lives and that we cannot use them when we buy things that we need. All we need to know is just the simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division”. This has been one the main reason why students took the Mathematics and Science subjects for granted. Moreover, most of them either failed from these two subject or feel frighten when having an encounter of these two.

As the world becomes ever more digital and opportunities in career fields such as engineering and manufacturing become more of a priority, it will be increasingly difficult to avoid these academic subjects. Lack of interest by students in mathematics that prompted to initiate the annual promotion of Mathematics Awareness. This demonstrates to students that math and science is an important academic subjects.  Math is sometimes called the science of patterns. This is one of the many reasons the why administration implemented a collaboration of these two major subjects. The main purpose of this program is to pass the understanding to the students that mathematics and science are for everyone and all students can develop a useful understanding of these. And also having a strong background in math and science will prepare students for higher education and open doors to greater opportunities over a lifetime.

Sci-Math Celebration helps students improve more their knowledge, it widens the thought of every student about what is science and math all about. We should think about how much math is use on a day-to-day basis, Math is truly as fundamental as reading.

Last Reflection

REALIZATION                      4th Quarter isn’t that easy and I expected that. There are so many things to complete and pass before exams in order for us to graduate in junior high.    I encountered a lot of challenges but then I remained calm so that I won’t be stressed out. It’s hard to manage or balance my time for my studies, family and friends but I always think and believe that I can do this. I will do everything to complete all my requirements so that after passing all of those I will start hanging out with my family and friends.                        I learned a lot this last quarter and all of the lessons I learnt I will use this for me to be successful someday.  I will always remember all the memories during my junior high years. And to all the teachers I met and taught me a lot ...
