National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

Office of Civil Defense in collaboration of DRRM council and National and Local agencies are wanting to strengthen the mechanism for National and Regional coordination. Concentrating to local communities earthquake preparedness. And increasing the commitment of LGU in building safe communities.

Earthquakes scenarios,” worst case scenarios” in Metro Manila and nearby provinces made DRRMC push through this NSED project for magnitudes 7 or 8 earthquake. Conducting this will help them to find out the effectiveness of that contingency plan.

In intensity 8 we will have difficulty in standing because we will stumble and in walking, we creep because we’ll feel dizziness. NDRRAMC, DILG and PHIVOLCS are hoping that everyone will participate in NSED.

During NSED, people do the duck, cover and hold. When shaking and when they can already stand up they’ll run outside the building and go to an open field or area.

Magnitude 8 earthquake will be known regards to the damages but it depends on how strong the establishment is. Preparedness is a must, we should always be ready before and after an earthquake.

Last Reflection

REALIZATION                      4th Quarter isn’t that easy and I expected that. There are so many things to complete and pass before exams in order for us to graduate in junior high.    I encountered a lot of challenges but then I remained calm so that I won’t be stressed out. It’s hard to manage or balance my time for my studies, family and friends but I always think and believe that I can do this. I will do everything to complete all my requirements so that after passing all of those I will start hanging out with my family and friends.                        I learned a lot this last quarter and all of the lessons I learnt I will use this for me to be successful someday.  I will always remember all the memories during my junior high years. And to all the teachers I met and taught me a lot ...
